Week 1 NFL Matchups and Picks

Week 1 Matchups and Picks:

Miami (0-0) @ Atlanta (0-0)
Spread: Atlanta (-3.5)
Pick w/o spread: Atlanta
Pick With spread: Miami
Both these teams are very offensive teams with mediocre defenses. However Miami's defense is much worse and with the Falcon's addition of Tony Gonzales, Matt Ryan has enough options to really exploit the Dolphin's weaknesses in their secondary. This will be a high scoring, close game.
Dolphins 26 Falcons 28.

Kansas City (0-0) @ Baltimore (0-0)
Spread: Baltimore (-13.5)
Pick w/o spread: Baltimore
Pick With spread: Baltimore
Blowout. No question. Especially if Cassel doesn't play.
Chiefs 13 Ravens 31

Philadelphia (0-0) @ Carolina (0-0)
Spread: Philadelphia (-1.5)
Pick w/o spread: Carolina
Pick With spread: Carolina
Simply: 1 seed vs 6 seed. The sensible person picks the 1 seed.
Eagles 19 Panthers 22

Denver (0-0) @ Cincinnati (0-0)
Spread: Cincinnati (-4.5)
Pick w/o spread: Cincinnati
Pick With spread: Cincinnati
Face it. Cutler's gone. Orton's injured. Bengals are on the upswing.
Broncos 17 Bengals 26

Minnesota (0-0) @ Cleveland (0-0)
Spread: Minnesota (-3.5)
Pick w/o spread: Minnesota
Pick With spread: Minnesota
Ok. Favre vs. Quinn. Peterson vs. Vickers. 10-6 vs. 4-12. Really?
Vikings 20 Browns 10

New York Jets (0-0) @ Houston (0-0)
Spread: Houston (-4.5)
Pick w/o spread: Houston
Pick With spread: Jets
Good drafting and being on the upswing makes me think that the Texans will win, but not by much. The Jets have Rex Ryan as their coach and Mark Sanchez at QB
Jets 13 Texans 17

Indianapolis (0-0) @ Jacksonville (0-0)
Spread: Houston (-7.5)
Pick w/o spread: Colts
Pick With spread: Colts
The only reason people would watch this game is for fantasy.
Colts 30 Jaguars 9

Detroit (0-0) @ New Orleans (0-0)
Spread: New Orleans (-12.5)
Pick w/o spread: New Orleans
Pick With spread: New Orleans
No explanation needed.
Lions 13 Saints 45

Dallas (0-0) @ Tampa Bay (0-0)
Spread: Dallas (-5.5)
Pick w/o spread: Dallas
Pick With spread: Dallas
Both teams are tanking but the Buccaneers are tanking more and started out lower.
Cowboys 25 Buccaneers 14

San Francisco (0-0) @ Arizona (0-0)
Spread: Arizona (-6.5)
Pick w/o spread: San Francisco
Pick With spread: San Francisco
Upset special! I have no idea why, but it will be an upset. These teams will end up battling it out late in the season for the NFC West.
49ers 35 Cardinals 31

New York Football Giants (0-0) @ Washington (0-0)
Spread: New York Football Giants (-6.5)
Pick w/o spread: New York Football Giants
Pick With spread: New York Football Giants
The New York Football Giants have one of the best defenses and rushing games in the NFL and the highest paid player in the NFL, Eli Manning.
New York Football Giants 24 Redskins 16

St. Louis (0-0) @ Seattle (0-0)
Spread: Seattle (-8.5)
Pick w/o spread: Seattle
Pick With spread: Seattle
One team on the upswing, one team crumbling. Both 2-14 last year. Who would you pick?
Rams 6 Seahawks 17

Chicago (0-0) @ Green Bay (0-0)
Spread: Green Bay (-3.5)
Pick w/o spread: Green Bay
Pick With spread: Green Bay
Both teams used to have terrific defenses, now not so much. Based on the preseason, the Packers 1st string scoring TDs on 9 of 13 drives, I'll go Packers.
Bears 17 Packers 24

Buffalo (0-0) @ New England (0-0)
Spread: New England (-10.5)
Pick w/o spread: New England
Pick With spread: Buffalo
The Bills can't win this but it won't be an 11 point blowout with Edwards and T.O.
Bills 24 Patriots 31

San Diego (0-0) @ Oakland (0-0)
Spread: San Diego (-9.5)
Pick w/o spread: San Diego
Pick With spread: San Diego
Really?
Chargers 38 Raiders 14

On Tuesday I will post the results and see how good/bad I did.
